How It Works

So, how does this work?

  • The first thing to do, is collect all the photos, negatives, slides, documents, etc, that you want scanned.   If it is a random selection, there is no need to put them in any particular order.

    • However, if you are having a Digital Photo Album made, or you want your items scanned in a particular order, you will need to put them in that order.  You may even want to put small stickers on the backside of each photo, and number them in the order you wish the items to be scanned or displayed in a digital photo album.  If you do this, be sure to get stickers that can be easily removed if you don’t want them to be a permanent fixture on the back of your photo.  Avery brand is usually good — 1/2″ x 3/4″.  Write the numbers on the stickers while they are still on the sheet they come on, so the ink doesn’t bleed and any pressure from the pen doesn’t mark the photo.

  • Once you have your items collected and put in order (or not), you will need to fill out an Order Form.  If you have an appointment to meet, an order form is not necessary.  We will fill it out at the meeting.  If you wish, however, you can have one ready for the meeting.

  • There are many reasons to make an appointment and meet to discuss your options when ordering:

    • There are several options for both scanning and Digital Photo Albums.

    • Each order is unique and deserves the best attention.

    • An appointment will allow us to make the best decisions for the scanning of your items, and for the creation of your Digital Photo Albums.

    • Shipping your photos, especially photo albums, baby books, wedding albums, yearbooks, etc, by a mail service can be expensive and your items cannot be guaranteed to not get lost in transit.

  • If, however, you want to send your order in, please print out the Order Form, fill it out and include it with your items.

  • A deposit will be required at the time the order is made and the balance will be due on delivery of the finished product.

    • Payment Methods: At this time we accept:  Cash, Check, Money Order, Cashier’s Check, Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express.

    • At this time, we do not offer on-line payment.  Yes, that seems like an inconvenience.  It will be more than just an inconvenience if our site is hacked and your personal information is stolen.  TWTD Digitized Memories is not willing to risk that, for both your sake and our own.

    • We’re sorry but:

      • There will be a $35 charge for returned checks.

  • The preferred delivery method is in person, hand to hand, from you to TWTD and from TWTD to you.

    • If this is not possible, the preferred delivery service is UPS GROUND.  If you are intent on sending by another carrier, that is alright.  First Class mail through the United States Postal Service, while the least costly, is NEVER recommended.  It does not allow for tracking, nor does it let you know when your package has arrived at its destination.

    • Please Be Aware:  Your photos are very valuable to you, but the value is not monetary.  Postal insurance does not cover sentimental value.

  • Once your items reach TWTD Digitized Memories, the work will begin.  The length of time it takes to complete your order will depend on a few things.  Obviously, it will take longer to scan 400 photos than it will to scan 200 photos.  Scanning at higher dpi (dots per inch) will also take longer.  And if there are other orders in front of yours, it will take longer.

  • When the order is done, all of your items and the finished products will be packed up and you will be contacted to arrange for delivery.  An in-person meeting will cost nothing.  If the items are shipped, they will be shipped by UPS Ground.  The cost will depend on how heavy the box is and where it’s going and will be added to your bill.
